Patricia and I (Jeremy) are focusing on developing a profile for Kiroko Enterprises, an urban farming teaching centre and an excellent example of how a sustainable urban agriculture enterprise can influence, engage and mobilize local communities around a plurality of social, economic, and environmental issues. We have been interviewing the director and employees of Kiroko Enterprises to gain insight on and tell the story of an urban farming success.
The profiling project has 3 main outputs
- Video Production: a 10-15 minute video telling the story of Kiroko enterprises and tying it to social, economic, and environmental issues. The video will also analyze urban farming through the lens of legal and policy frameworks
- The Urban Farmer’s Handbook: This handbook will be a how-to resource for urban dwellers interested in starting their own urban agriculture enterprise
- Academic Paper
We have a lot of work to do in the coming months. Keep reading our weekly blog for updates on how the project is progressing!
